The rules
- Pivot levels come from the previous day’s, week’s or month’s high (H), low (L) and close (C), picked with the buttons above the table. Weeks start on Monday and use UTC dates.
- Classic: P = (H + L + C) ÷ 3, R1 = 2P − L, S1 = 2P − H, R2 = P + (H − L), S2 = P − (H − L), R3 = H + 2(P − L), S3 = L − 2(H − P).
- Fibonacci: P ± 0.382, 0.618 and 1 × (H − L). Camarilla: C ± (H − L) × 1.1 ÷ 12, 6, 4 and 2 (levels 1 to 4).
- Near a level: the latest close within the chosen distance (0.25% to 2%) of the closest level. Zone shows which two levels price sits between.
- Crossed a level: the latest close is on the other side of a level from the previous close. Tested support and held: the latest low came within 0.1% of an S level without going more than a quarter of an ATR below it, and the close stayed above it; rejected at resistance is the mirror image.
About this setup
- What it is
- Pivot points are price levels worked out from the previous period’s high, low and close. Floor traders used them to mark the day’s likely turning points, and many traders still watch the same levels.
- How traders use it
- Traders look for bounces at support levels (S1–S3) and stalls at resistance (R1–R3), read a close above the pivot as a bullish bias and below as bearish, and treat a break of an outer level as a trend day. Weekly and monthly pivots give slower, wider levels.
- Caveats
- Pivot levels are mechanical and price often trades straight through them. Crypto’s daily candle is still forming, so today’s close and the levels it is near can change before 00:00 UTC.
Calculated in your browser from daily candles; crypto’s daily candle is still forming until 00:00 UTC, so today’s values can change. Not investment advice.
Frequently asked questions
Which markets can it scan?
Four, picked with the Market buttons above the table. Crypto (the default) scans the 250 busiest USDT pairs on Binance. Crypto perps scans the 200 busiest USDT perpetual futures on OKX. Both are free public data and need no key. US stocks scans about 600 US stocks and ETFs with your own free Alpaca key, and CME futures scans about 25 front-month CME Group contracts (stock indexes, Treasuries, oil, gas, metals, grains, livestock, currencies and CME bitcoin) with your own free Massive key.
Why do stocks and futures need a key?
Stock and futures prices are licensed data, so a website can’t hand them out for free. Alpaca (for stocks) and Massive (for futures) give anyone a free data key. Your key is saved only in your browser and sent only to that provider. See how to get a free Alpaca key and how to get a free Massive key for futures.
Is the data real-time?
Crypto and crypto perps are live from Binance and OKX, on daily candles that start at 00:00 UTC (today’s candle is still forming). Alpaca’s free stock data is 15 minutes behind the market, and Massive’s free futures plan is 8 hours delayed. Turn on auto-refresh next to the results to update the table in place every 30 seconds, minute or 5 minutes.
